‘Please god no’ – Everton fans react to Lucas Digne and Danny Rose swap deal rumours

According to The Daily Star, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are locked in discussions over a potential swap deal.

This transfer agreement would see Lucas Digne head to Tottenham with Danny Rose coming the other way.

Everton signed Digne from Barcelona last summer and he has been a revelation. With four goals and four assists, he has been a constant threat down the left flank.

He could be seen as Rose’s ideal replacement at Spurs. The England international, 28, has admitted that his future is in doubt and he could leave.

Mauricio Pochettino will need a new left-back if Rose departs so he will be eager to push through a swap deal.

Everton fans, however, are not so keen on this proposed swap. Digne has outperformed Rose all season and he is a younger option.

The France international is a popular player at Goodison Park and Toffees supporters hold high hopes for him next season.

Everton might not be able to offer him European football but Marco Silva’s project appears to be taking shape ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
