A number of Arsenal fans have taken to social media to talk about Matteo Guendouzi in wake of a report in France Football regarding his future at the Emirates Stadium.
The Arsenal midfielder has been frozen out at the Emirates Stadium in wake of him grabbing Brighton striker Neal Maupay by the throat towards the end of the Gunners’ defeat at the Amex Stadium.
The Daily Mail claimed that there were taunts from the Arsenal man about how much he and his teammates earned compared to those of Brighton.
That incident was said to be the last straw for Arteta, culminating in the player now reportedly training alone.
However, prior incidents allegedly took place, including an apparent dispute between Arteta and Guendouzi in Dubai (France Football) and the manager reportedly re-watching training footage on one occasion and seeing the player “messing about” (Daily Mail).
France Football claims that a meeting is scheduled at the end of the season to make a final decision on Guendouzi’s case and, unless he apologises and changes his attitude, it is “very unlikely” that he will be kept on.
The outlet claims all options are being considered – a sale, loan or part-exchange – for a player valued at 30m to 35m Euros (£27m to £31.5million).
Quite a few Arsenal fans would hate to see Guendouzi go and, on social media, called for him to do what he must to ensure he has a future at the club:
say sorry g

I don’t know what happened from his point of view, but Guendouzi needs to figure out what’s important to him: keeping up petty arguments or playing for the football club?

Just say sorry

@MatteoGuendouzi fix your attitude man. You’re professional footballer…. Notice the word ‘professional’, Google it if you don’t know what it means.
Fans want you at the club, please be change, for the fans ?

Others, however, think his time at the club might be up:
I was upset at the prospect of him leaving but people who can’t take responsibility for their mistakes and don’t apologise for things in life, are my absolute pet hate. If he can’t say sorry and move on like a man, we should sell him, regardless of his clear talent.

Such a shame for a very talented footballer.
The good thing is that for all his talent we won’t miss him.
If what they say about him is true then we should do away with him very fast, They have to be respect for any organization to move forward.

No just leave

It’s a shame, but if Arteta is questioning his character, professionalism and attitude, then he’s done at Arsenal. Very much doubt he’ll play for the club again. Get a decent fee for him, move him on and let him be someone else’s problem. #UTA ?
