Fans of Liverpool and Tottenham have responded with enthusiasm to a report linking them with Marcel Sabitzer.
According to German publication Bild, they join Manchester United in a three-way fight for the midfielder’s services.
27-year-old Sabitzer has won 47 caps for the Austrian national team, scoring eight times.
He is captain Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, where he has scored 50 goals in 219 appearances.
Two of those came against Jose Mourinho’s men in March 2020’s 3-0 Champions League round of 16 victory.
It is believed that the German club are holding out for around £36 million, with the player’s contract due to expire in the summer of 2022.
Highly-rated Sabitzer, who has also played for Admira Wacker and Rapid Vienna, was also linked with Arsenal in December.
Whether he arrives for nothing in 2022 or or a fee this summer, it appears the English Premier League could be his next destination.
These Liverpool and Spurs supporters are clearly enthusiastic about that prospect.
