Everton did eventually get the victory over Watford in the EFL Cup last night, winning out 2-0 thanks to two goals in the final 20 minutes to qualify for the last eight.
BBC quoted Marco Silva post-match saying the game was ‘must-win’ against his former club and Mason Holgate and Richarlison sealed the win.
Silva fielded Moise Kean on the right of midfield before replacing him with Theo Walcott at half time and the Englishman had a far greater impact on a side who improved as the game wore on.
Italian Kean is still struggling to find his best form after his summer switch from Juventus but is playing him on the right flank really the best way to get him back on song?

Kean is a versatile forward who can play through the middle or off the left, cutting in, but at a time when he’s struggling, putting him in the side out of position out on the right isn’t going to help him.
Some players take longer to adjust to life in England than others and Kean is obviously finding it tough; so what he needs is the faith of his manager to play him in the role he was signed for – centre forward.
Instead, he was farmed out wide and replaced after a half of football when the whole team didn’t play as well as they might have – hung out to dry somewhat by Silva on a night which was so vital for the Portuguese.
