'Playing in Europe before Jack': Some Aston Villa fans react to Andre Green shock news
Andre Green, a graduate of the Aston Villa academy, has sealed a move to Slovan Bratislava.
The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Villa Park, making 48 appearances in claret and blue.
Green also took in three loan spells away from the Villans, playing at Portsmouth, Preston and Charlton.
The Solihull-born winger left Villa permanently in January, joining Sheffield Wednesday on an 18-month contract.
However, Green made just 15 appearances for the Owls, with a mere three starts in the Championship.
Now, the former England Under-20 international will be plying his trade for Slovakia’s biggest club.
Gregg Evans claimed Green was included in Slovan’s Europa League squad list for tonight’s game against Olimpiacos, but won’t feature.
Here is what some Aston Villa fans made of the news about their former player:

So when I said 4 or 5 years ago that Andre Green would be playing in Europe before Villa were this wasn’t quite what I imagined, but still, go Andre— Bozzy 🦁💙 (@bozzystuff) August 19, 2021

In other random ex-#AVFC news, 2012-13 NextGen Final hero Graham Burke has now scored for Shamrock Rovers in all 3 European competitions.
He had 4 UEL goals for them before this year, and this season he’s scored in both the UCL & the UECL.
