Daniel Candeias was well-liked by Rangers fans during his time at Ibrox before being sold by Steven Gerrard in the summer, and he has responded to a Gers supporter who declared that he missed the Portuguese ace in a Light Blue shirt.

Candeias, 31, was a rare example of Pedro Caixinha’s good work in the transfer market – Alfredo Morelos being another. The experienced winger signed on at Rangers in the summer of 2017, and he went on to play a huge 97 times in just two seasons.

The Portugal youth international – who has also enjoyed spells with Porto, Granada and Nuremburg – won the 2017-18 Player of the Season award at Rangers, and had a hand in 39 goals during his time in Scotland. He scored 14, and created 25.

A Gers supporter spoke of how he missed watching Candeias on the right flank at Rangers – who impressed under Caixinha, Graeme Murty and in Gerrard’s first season. Candeias responded with a simple emoji.

Just three matches shy of reaching a century with Rangers, Gerrard opted to sell Candeias to Turkish side Genclerbirligi in the summer – for just £250,000 as per the Record. He has since scored three and laid on four assists in 17 games for his new side.

But he still obviously remains very fond of Rangers given his reply to a supporter, and many Rangers fans have indeed reacted to his response – with many urging him to return to Ibrox.
