Player who left Tottenham in January could soon become a free agent, new club fear he’s too slow

Eric Dier only left Tottenham Hotspur in January but could soon be on the move again.

It became clear throughout the first half of the season that Dier simply had to leave Tottenham.

Dier struggled to feature under Ange Postecoglou with the Spurs boss even preferring to use full backs at centre back instead of Dier.

After nearly 10 years of service, Dier left Tottenham in January as Bayern Munich pounced to reunite him with Harry Kane.

Dier has only been at Bayern for just over a month, but doubts are reportedly already emerging…

Bayern Munich fears over Eric Dier pace

Bayern pivoted to signing Dier after ironically missing on Radu Dragusin to Tottenham, paving the way for Dier’s exit.

Dier has started three games for Bayern, coming off the bench in another two.

The 30-year-old is ultimately trying to prove that he deserves to stay at Bayern having penned a six-month loan deal with the option for a one-year contract.

Well, with Bayern struggling right now it sounds like Dier isn’t exactly convincing everybody at the Allianz Arena.

Sport Bild claim that people inside Bayern are having doubts about Dier, in part because he ‘lacks speed’.

This was certainly a problem in Postecoglou’s high line and Bayern seem to be having similar concerns.

It’s stated that Dier’s long-term future at Bayern is now ‘questionable’ with the Bundesliga giants seemingly considering moving on.

Bayern sit eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the Bundesliga title and if their dominance of German football comes to an end, big changes will surely be coming.

Dier could soon become a free agent and would be left to try and find a new club for the 2024-25 season, possibly attracting Premier League interest – which could see him line up against Tottenham.
