Liverpool academy ace Abdi Sharif has taken to Twitter with a message after penning a new contract at Anfield.
The 19-year-old, who hails from Toxteth, began training with Liverpool at the age of six and officially joined the Reds three years later.
Sharif signed his first professional deal last summer, but his career was subsequently interrupted by a serious knee injury he sustained during pre-season.

The versatile youngster – who lifted the FA Youth Cup last year – has since been undergoing rehabilitation and Liverpool have now given him the chance to make up for lost time.
Sharif’s tweet was met with plenty of congratulatory replies:
Sharif’s main position is in central midfield but he can play on the right of midfield, at right-back and even at centre-back.
He idolised Steven Gerrard as a youngster, who in turned coached him at Liverpool’s academy and said he “physically can hit big numbers… he’s a very strong runner, leggy.”
