Alejo Veliz has now revealed that Bryan Gil told him to leave Tottenham on loan for Sevilla in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old made the comments when speaking to Sevilla’s official website.

So, what did Alejo Veliz say about Bryan Gil and leaving Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

Gil advised Veliz to leave Tottenham on loan

Well, the Argentine sealed a deadline day move on loan to Sevilla until the end of the season – having played just 42 minutes of Premier League football so far this term.

It was even suggested that the forward felt disappointed by his lack of minutes.

Now, Veliz has revealed that Gil helped him decide his immediate future in January.

The South American is quoted by AS as saying: “I came with Bryan a month and a half ago or so and we got to know Seville a little.

“Then we went to his town and Bryan always spoke very well to me about the club. Before coming I spoke with him and asked him about everything. He told me to move forward because everything was a ten.”

It was nice of the £21.6m man to accompany Veliz to Seville before he made his decision, and hopefully, it turns out to be a switch that benefits all parties.

Sevilla certainly seem excited to have the Argentina U20 international in the squad, having assigned the No.10 shirt to the precocious Tottenham loanee.

Sevilla is perfect for Veliz

In our view, this will be a fantastic loan spell for Veliz.

Not only will the Gödeken-born prospect receive exposure to first-team football in a major European league, but he also now has Erik Lamela as a teammate, someone who can feed him plenty of information about Tottenham even while the youngster is away from N17 on loan.

Veliz also has the incredibly experienced Sergio Ramos to lean on for advice at Sevilla.

Hopefully, Quique Sanchez Flores gives the Tottenham wonderkid plenty of playing time, and he returns to north London as a much better player.
