Piers Morgan shares whether he believes Arsenal should sign Marcus Rashford now

In a surprise turn of events Piers Morgan has now been considering whether Arsenal should sign Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

Mikel Arteta has been bereft of a consistent goal scorer in North London this season, with neither Gabriel Jesus or Eddie Nketiah regularly finding the net.

However, it’s also not been the best campaign for Marcus Rashford, either.

The Manchester United man did net at the Emirates before the turn of the year, but has since been dropped from Erik ten Hag’s side.

And following the recent shenanigans that saw Rashford miss out on a FA Cup trip to Newport County, speculation over his future has begun.

Perhaps a move to Arsenal would never be realistic, Arteta might not even appreciate Rashford’s profile right now.

But when appearing on talkSPORT this morning, Piers Morgan was questioned whether he’d like to see Rashford arrive at Arsenal.

And although usually controversial in his opinions, the journalist was fairly sensible in his response.

Responding to the question, Morgan considered Rashford as a winger, rather than a striker, and didn’t think he was needed.

He said: “No, we don’t need him because we’ve actually got two brilliant wingers in [Bukayo] Saka and [Gabriel] Martinelli.”

As stated, it was a surprisingly low key response, and one that a lot of Arsenal fans would probably agree with.

Similarly, Man United fans would surely not want to see their club turn it’s back on Rashford just yet, even if recent months have been tough.

That being said, England international Conor Coady has now actually been urging a forward to join Arsenal this summer.

There’s clearly going to be some movement at the Emirates after the season concludes, and it increasingly seems as if Arteta will strike another high profile move.

But as Piers Morgan would agree, there’s little merit to bringing Rashford to Arsenal right now.
