Southampton captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has changed agents, in a move that will surely have Tottenham Hotspur on standby.
The Danish midfielder confirmed to BT that he has left his former agent Soren Lerby and will now be represented by ‘super-agent’ Pini Zahavi.
“It’s all very simple. I completed my collaboration with Søren Lerby around mid-December. Then I got the opportunity to work with Pini and took that opportunity.
“I am very happy to have Pini on my team. I don’t need to introduce him. His story speaks for itself. He is the master of his profession.”
So why should Tottenham fans be interested?
Tottenham were linked with a move for the 24-year-old in January. As reported by Sky Sports on transfer deadline day, Tottenham are keen on a summer move for Hojbjerg, whose current contract expires in 2021. Sky suggested a £35 million fee could be enough to snap up the Saints star.
The move from Lerby to Zahavi certainly suggests a future Tottenham advantage.

Tottenham have done plenty of business with the Israeli agent in recent months.
As reported by the Daily Mail, it was Zahavi who brokered the deal which saw Jose Mourinho take the Tottenham Hotspur job in November.
Sport Witness also reported that Gedson Fernandes changed agents from Miguel Pinho to Zahavi in December, weeks before his own switch to Spurs.
In the summer, Tottenham’s reported (The Guardian) £55 million deal for Tanguy Ndombele was also brokered by Zahavi, according to Sky Sports.
So it is clear that Daniel Levy, Jose Mourinho, and Zahavi have a good working relationship. With Hojbjerg switching representation it looks like a clear sign that the Dane could be eyeing up a move to Tottenham in the summer.
