Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has become one of the latest Tottenham Hotspur stars to react to Jose Mourinho’s departure on social media, with the midfielder insisting on Instagram that it was an honour to play under the Portuguese.
Spurs fans have been put through an incredible 24 hours. Shortly after it was announced that Tottenham would be one of the teams joining the new European Super League, Spurs announced that Mourinho had left the club.

According to BBC Sport, he was sacked after 17 months in charge.
It is a remarkable end to an underwhelming tenure. Ryan Mason and Chris Powell’s second game in temporary charge will be the Carabao Cup final this weekend.
It is a decision that the majority of Tottenham fans seem to be in favour of. They sit seventh in the Premier League and were knocked out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb.

It certainly did not appear that Spurs were moving in the right direction with Mourinho in charge.
However, there may be some members of the Tottenham squad who will be sad to see him go – and one may be Hojbjerg.
The Dane was signed during Mourinho’s only summer window. And he proved to be one of his only success stories.
Hojbjerg has been one of the players who has really stepped up this season. So it may not be a surprise that the 25-year-old seemed to be one of the first to comment on the announcement.
Here is what Hojbjerg posted…
