Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted he is excited to start alongside new club-record signing Nicolas Pepe.
As per the Evening Standard, the £200,000-a-week (Spotrac) hitman – who netted the only goal of the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Newcastle yesterday – cannot wait for the linkup with Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette.
He said: “I don’t want to compare it [to other strike partnerships I have been a part of] but it is going to be crazy. Everybody is excited about that. We will have time to play together and we will see. I am looking forward to it.
“The next game we play at home and we will see what is the coach’s decision. It will be difficult for him but that’s the game. When you have a good team it is like that and you have to make choices.”
TBR’s View – How does Emery get the balance right?
Arsenal have an array of hugely exciting attacking options and the question for Unai Emery is how to get them all into his side – while getting the best out of them and not leaving his defence too exposed.
Aubameyang may need to move out to the left when everyone plays – although he was up front on his own yesterday – but there’s no doubting that the prospect is exciting.
