Pierluigi Gollini has been quoted by Football London as saying that Cristian Romero will be “perfect” for Tottenham and the Premier League.
Romero, 23, joined Tottenham along with Gollini from Atalanta in the summer. But for Romero, it has been a much more tumultuous start to life.
Bought for around £50million, the Argentina international started late – having helped Argentina win the Copa America. He also had a knee niggle.
Then, he jetted off to Argentina to represent his country and was forced to isolate in Croatia for 10 days. It saw him miss training, and matches.
But now, Romero has started the last two games against Chelsea and Wolves – and Gollini has delivered an exciting prediction about his teammate.

“This guy is an animal, I swear. He’s perfect for the Premier League,” Gollini said. “He needs to adjust and he will do it because he’s a clever guy.
“There’s a lot of things going on. Everybody needs time to adapt, to adjust to a new culture and a new country. But he will be amazing,” Gollini said.
Gollini on Romero: Tottenham need instant success from defender
While Romero is showing signs of quality, Tottenham need success immediately. They need a player that can instantly sort out the defence.
Yes, Tottenham kept clean sheets in their opening three games but it was not as if they shut up shop. They certainly rode their luck on occasion.
While Romero is showing potential, Tottenham need the Serie A’s best defender of 2020-21. An in-form Romero takes Spurs to the next level.
How does he get to that point? Solving his knee injury and playing game after game. Hopefully, for Spurs, he starts on Sunday against Arsenal.
