Tottenham have got back on track in recent weeks after suffering a slip last month, losing three consecutive matches, but there are still significant problems within Mauricio Pochettino’s ranks that require attention.
Harry Kane has eased the concern surrounding his performances by scoring three goals in two games, ending a streak of five games for club and country without finding the net, but Spurs continue to play a risky game with their star forward.
The 25-year-old has carried the mantle for the Lilywhites and England throughout recent seasons, establishing himself as one of the finest strikers in world football, but Spurs will suffer if he sustains an injury.
Tottenham’s only recognised striker standing as back-up to Kane is 33-year-old Fernando Llorente, who has scored just once in 17 Premier League appearances since joining the club in August 2017 – which begs the question as to who will score the goals if Kane is absent?

Pochettino will certainly have to dip into the market to bolster his squad in this key position and the ideal signing has emerged in Italian football, where 23-year-old Krzysztof Piatek has taken Serie A by storm.
The forward boasts a sensational return of eight goals in six league matches which, added to his four-goal haul in the Coppa Italia, has seen the Poland international become the first player in Europe to hit double figures in 2018-19.
Interest in his services is widespread and TeamTalk have stated that Spurs are amongst the clubs in the running for his signature, while also naming Manchester City and Liverpool as holding an interest.
City and Liverpool’s attacking ranks are already well stocked though, whereas Piatek would earn regular first-team action in North London as a deputy to Kane – and he would also solve any headaches that Pochettino continues to have around his lack of depth leading the line.
