Photo: Tottenham ace Emerson arrives at Luton airport
Tottenham Hotspur summer signing Emerson Royal has posted a photo confirming he’s arrived at Luton Airport.
The right-back signed for the Lilywhites on transfer deadline day on a five-year contract for £25.7m.
However, the Brazilian never actually came to the United Kingdom to complete any part of his move.
The player’s medical was held in Barcelona with images showing the ace walking across the Catalan giants’ training ground last Tuesday.
On his Instagram account, Royal posted pictures of him boarding a plane and then touching down in London Luton.
If all goes to plan, the South American should make his debut for the club against Crystal Palace this weekend.
Spurs travel to Selhurst Park looking to keep up their 100% record in the Premier League. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have won all three games, scoring three goals and conceding none.
Emerson photo arrival signals he could play for Tottenham vs Crystal Palace
The photo of Emerson signals he could play for Tottenham versus the Eagles this weekend.
A full week of training should be enough to see the defender make his debut.
It would signal something of a new era for the club on the right-hand side of their defence.
Spurs have spent the last few seasons relying on Serge Aurier, who has proven a car-crash of a defender.
The termination of his contract tells you all you need to know about how well his time in north London has gone.
But, with Emerson arriving, and potentially making his first appearance this weekend, a new era will begin.
