Photo: Stuivenberg embraces 'outstanding' Arsenal teenager in Dubai training camp
Lino Sousa is one of the Arsenal teenagers getting a lot of attention recently after he was included in the trip to Dubai for warm weather training.
Sousa is seen as one of the most talented young prospects at London Colney at the moment. He has been called up to first-team training more than once already and is clearly making an impression.
Of course, there could still be a way to go for Sousa to get a proper call into the Arsenal first XI. But he’ll be looking at the recent opportunity given to Ethan Nwaneri and will hope that he’s given his own chance at some point by Mikel Arteta.
For now, though, it seems Sousa is loving life in training. And looking through the recent training pics, Sousa is having the time of his life as he’s been spotted sharing a fun embrace with Arsenal coach, Albert Stuivenberg.
TBR’s View: Sousa the next on a long Arsenal production line
Arsenal are producing so many good players now it seems to be a relentless stream. Sousa might well be the next one and the fact he seems to be loving training like he is shows how happy a camp it is.
Arsenal and Arteta will give young players a chance. Yes, there is a need for them to be strong and make sure their best players play the big games. But Arteta has shown he’ll reward young players, or even just go off gut feel like he did with Nwaneri.
Sousa’s chance, then, will surely be around the corner.
