Liverpool lock horns with Manchester City in a huge Premier League fixture at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds and the Citizens have been head and shoulders above the rest of the division in recent years.

However, Liverpool have struggled this season, and there is now a significant points gap between the Reds and City.

While Pep Guardiola’s side are second on 23 points, Jurgen Klopp’s charges are a lowly 10th on 10 points.

The stakes are high and Liverpool must win to stand any hope of remaining in the title race.

However, the Reds will be boosted by their Champions League thrashing of Rangers in midweek.

In addition, Anfield has been a fortress in the league, so Liverpool will hope to make home advantage count.

Klopp has been putting his players through their paces ahead of the match at the AXA Training Centre.

Liverpool shared photos of their latest session, and Mateusz Musialowski featured prominently.

Musialowski joined the Liverpool academy from Polish outfit Lodz in August 2020.

The 18-year-old enjoyed an amazing maiden season at Anfield, registering 12 goals and three assists from 25 Under-18 outings.

Musialowski then split his game time between the Under-18s and Under-23s last season, breaking the 10-goal barrier once again.

And this season, the teenager has moved up to the Under-21s (formerly U23s), with four Premier League 2 outings to his name.

Liverpool fans have praised Musialowski on Twitter, one deeming him “the reincarnation of Coutinho” and another saying he’s “by far the best youngster I’ve seen in the LFC academy since Trent“.

He has also been compared to Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard.
