Images of Joelinton have been posted on Twitter by a Newcastle United fan amid reports that the Hoffenheim attacker is close to agreeing a move to the Premier League side in the coming days.

The Chronicle claimed on Monday that Newcastle are set to announce the signing of the 22-year-old this week in a deal believed to be worth a whopping £36million, after the Brazilian’s sparkling 2018-19 form.

Despite being used out wide, up front or even in the number 10 role, Joelinton scored goals and laid on assists for Hoffeheim throughout the campaign. In 35 games, he scored 11 goals and laid on nine assists.

Newcastle have keen for the entire window to sign Joelinton and it appears he is now set to agree a move to Tyneside, with the player being spotted and even waving at the camera.

TBR’s view – Joelinton can be Perez’s Newcastle replacement

Ayoze Perez’s departure has rocked Newcastle, given the importance of the Spaniard to the side that defied odds under the stewardship of Rafa Benitez over the last few years.

He topped the goalscoring rankings last term – ahead of Salomon Rondon – with 13 goals in all competitions. He has joined Leicester for £30million, and Newcastle need a replacement to hit the ground running.

That man is Joelinton and Newcastle need him to shine from the get go, if they are to avoid another dogfight.
