Arsenal are now back at London Colney as they look ahead to next week’s return to Premier League action.

The Gunners were left reeling by a difficult January transfer window in which they failed to make any senior signings.

January was also difficult on the pitch, with Arsenal failing to win a game all month.

But their warm-weather training camp in Dubai looked like it did the Gunners contingent a lot of good.

Hopefully these last few days will see Arsenal recharged and ready to return to form in the league.

On Friday, the club’s media team shared a number of photos involving the first-team in training.

Arsenal players were pictured both on the pitches and in the gym.

And two Gunners academy talents were spotted amongst the photos of Friday’s training session.

On the left is Joel Lopez, and on the right is Mazeed Ogungbo.

“Always good”

The former is a 19-year-old left-back who joined Arsenal’s setup from Barcelona in 2018.

Lopez has made 19 appearances for the Gunners’ Under-23s and U21s this season, registering two goals and four assists.

“Joel is a left back with a lot of future,” La Masia expert and Diario SPORT reporter Albert Rogé told football.london in 2018.

“He loves to get forward and attack the penalty area. He combines very well with those inside him and has a good touch of the ball.

“In defence he is intense and his speed helps him to correct his position when he makes a few mistakes.

“He is a player that coaches always like. Very discreet on and off the pitch and always good.”

“Relishes pushing forward”

Meanwhile, Ogungbo has come through the ranks at Hale End and earned promotion to the Under-23s last summer.

In August last year, the 19-year-old also penned his first professional contract at Arsenal.

The Republic of Ireland youth international is naturally a left-back but has also stepped up to play at centre-back.

Jeorge Bird has described Ogungbo as a ‘no-nonsense’ defender who ‘relishes pushing forward and delivering dangerous crosses’.

This season, he has made 21 appearances for at U23 and U21 level.

Neither player has debuted for Arsenal’s senior team yet, but Arteta seems to rate both highly – could either get minutes this season?
