Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus suffered heartbreak at the World Cup while representing Brazil, but that did not stop him from getting his good pal Cedric Soares a ‘special’ gift.

The Brazilian has arguably been Arsenal’s best player this season, and his knee injury – one that will reportedly keep him out of action for about three months – is a massive blow for the Gunners ahead of the return of the Premier League next week.

Jesus would’ve definitely been heartbroken after he suffered a knee injury. He returned to London and underwent surgery, and his World Cup dream was over as a result.

The Brazilian could’ve just gone back home without thinking about anyone else, but he remembered how big a fan Cedric is of Dani Alves, who is one of the best right-backs of all time.

Jesus decided to get Cedric a signed shirt from Alves, with the legendary Brazilian defender even writing a message for him in Portuguese.

Cedric took to Instagram to thank Jesus for his ‘special’ gift. “Thank you so much @dejesusofical for this special gift! @danialves has always been a great example for me and this shirt is definitely one to keep,” he wrote in his post.

Alves sent another message to the Arsenal right-back. “My respect to you my brother,” he said.

“It’s an honour that you have my shirt. It was sent with lots of affection to you. Thanks for the love and respect. BrazilXPortugal always together.”

Cedric replied: “You are great bro. Thank you very much!”

Cedric could leave in 2023

When Arsenal signed Cedric back in 2020 – initially on loan and then on a permanent deal – many fans were confused. They didn’t understand the point of the signing, and the Portugal international never became the first choice.

This season, after Mikel Arteta converted Ben White into a right-back, Cedric fell further down the pecking order. He’s now the club’s third-choice right-back, and that’s not ideal at all for someone of his age.

The January transfer window is just around the corner, and there’s a good chance Cedric could leave Arsenal. Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas revealed that Marco Silva’s Fulham are interested in signing the Gunners right-back.

The journalist revealed that Fulham tried to sign him last summer but a move never materialised. They will try again in January and this time, it could go through.
