Liverpool have some absolutely incredible young players in their ranks.

The Reds struck gold when they signed Harvey Elliott back in the summer of 2019.

Less than two years on, the 18-year-old is in the Liverpool first team and has made 18 senior appearances.

Elliott could well have had more were it not for the dislocated ankle he suffered earlier this season.

However, he is now fully fit and has hit the ground running, getting plenty of minutes since his return.

Another top talent in the Liverpool ranks is Tyler Morton, who has nine Reds senior appearances to his name.

The 19-year-old made his competitive debut this season, coming off the bench against Norwich in the Carabao Cup.

“Outstanding”

Morton then announced himself on a continental level against AC Milan in December’s Champions League clash.

The teenager looked assured against one of the continent’s titans, and completed 38 of his 45 attempted passes.

“I think we should all calm down but it was really good tonight and a big pleasure to watch the boy playing,” Klopp said after that game.

“The football brain he showed tonight was absolutely exceptional.”

Likewise, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher loved what he saw from the academy graduate.

“I thought Tyler Morton was outstanding in midfield,” Carragher told CBS Sports – via Metro – post-match.

“He was fantastic, for a teenage player, playing for Liverpool who are one of the biggest clubs in European football and your home town club, in the San Siro.”

Morton has been splitting his time between the seniors and the Under-23s this season, and often features in first-team training session.

On Thursday, Liverpool released photos from their latest session at the AXA Training Centre, and Morton and Elliott both featured.

Indeed, it looks as though both players have struck up a friendship, the two posing and having a laugh in front of the cameras.

Both players will hope to be involved on Saturday, when Liverpool head to Brighton for the day’s early Premier League kickoff.
