Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has been putting his players through their paces in training ahead of their Premier League weekend clash.

Spurs fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Southampton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in midweek.

With the race for the top four heating up, Spurs can’t really afford to drop many more points.

Both West Ham and Arsenal took advantage of the clubs around them dropping points this week.

The Hammers are now fourth in the table on 40 points, while Arsenal are fifth on 39 and boasting two games in hand.

Tottenham are seventh on 36 points, but they have three games in hand on West Ham.

Up next for Spurs is another home game, this time against Wolves.

And on Friday, one of Tottenham’s most highly rated academy youngsters joined in training at Hotspur Way.

That player is Maksim Paskotsi, who has been making waves in the Spurs academy since joining in September 2020.

The 19-year-old had already debuted for Flora Tallinn’s senior team when he arrived at N17.

He hit the ground running for Spurs’ Under-18s with a goal, an assist and a clean sheet.

Since then, Paskotsi – now in the U23s – has gone from strength to strength.

He has already made his Tottenham senior debut, featuring against Pacos de Ferreira in the Conference League.

And since making his Estonia debut in March last year, Paskotsi has already clocked up 11 senior caps.

Spurs fans have been following his progress for club and country, with quite a few deeming him “generational“.

If Conte is calling Paskotsi up to first-team training, that’s testament to what a top talent he is.

While regular Premier League action might still be a way away, could Conte give the talented centre-back some minutes between now and May?
