On Tuesday, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta put the Gunners players through their paces at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal were last in action last Thursday, when they ran out 2-1 winners over Wolves at the Emirates.

The Gunners are next in action on Sunday with a trip to Watford, before facing three matches in six days.

After the Hornets clash, Arsenal then take on Leicester, Liverpool and Aston Villa between March 13 and 19.

The mood is positive, with three Premier League wins in a row putting Arsenal in a good position for a top-four finish.

Arteta has shown he’s eager to give academy gems an opportunity to train with the first-teamers, and Tuesday was no different.

Arsenal academy defender Zach Awe was pictured in the session, which took place at their stadium instead of Colney.

In one photo, the 18-year-old towers over Thomas Partey, with fellow youngster Omari Hutchinson also eyeing the ball.

Awe has come through the ranks at Arsenal and penned his first professional contract in February last year.

The teenager has split his time between the Gunners Under-18s and Under-23s this season.

Awe, who stands 6ft 4in tall (Sofascore), has also featured in the EFL Trophy in 2021-22.

He is a versatile player – a centre-back by trade, he can also play at right-back and in midfield.

He’s yet to make his first-team debut for Arsenal, but was in the matchday squad for the 1-0 win over Wolves on February 10.

Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird has described Awe as “composed in possession and efficient at breaking up play”.
