Arsenal will hope to break for the World Cup on a high note with victory at Wolves on Saturday night.

The Gunners have enjoyed an incredible first half of the season and sit top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal have also reached the last 16 of the Europa League, avoiding the playoffs by finishing top of their group.

And while the Gunners dropped out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, that could be a blessing in disguise.

Arsenal can now concentrate on the Premier League and the Europa League, with a good chance of lifting both.

On Friday, the Arsenal media team shared photos from the team’s latest training session at London Colney.

Arteta promoted a number of academy stars to the session, including Reuell Walters.

And once again, Lino Sousa was involved, though he certainly wasn’t given an easy time.

Several pictures show a scramble for the ball, with Thomas Partey appearing to haul the youngster to the ground.

This is good to see – intense, competitive training sessions show the players are giving their all.

With Arsenal doing so well this season, it shows that what’s happening at Colney is translating to the matches.

‘Jordi Alba 2.0’ within Arsenal ranks?

Arsenal signed Sousa back in January, bringing him to Hale End from West Bromwich Albion.

The left-back made an immediate impact at age level for Arsenal, playing for both the Under-18s and the Under-23s.

Indeed, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has promoted Sousa to first-team training on quite a few occasions.

After travelling to Germany in pre-season, the teenager kept his place in Mehmet Ali’s Under-21s team, following Betsy’s departure to Crawley.

He has seven Premier League 2 appearances this term, as well as two EFL Trophy outings.

Arteta also named Sousa in his matchday squad for the Premier League meeting with Brentford in September.

Back in February last year, The Sun branded Sousa as Jordi Alba 2.0.

They claimed he’s ‘in the mould’ of the Barcelona defender, who was one of the best left-backs in the world during his prime.

Meanwhile, The Athletic reported that people at West Brom felt Sousa is ‘outstanding’ and ‘among the best in the country’ at his age level.
