Mikel Arteta has been putting the Arsenal players through their paces ahead of their return to Premier League action.

The Gunners haven’t played a game since 10 February, when they ran out 1-0 winners away at Wolves.

It provided a much-needed boost for Arsenal, who failed to win a game in January.

The Gunners were meant to face Chelsea at the weekend.

However, the Blues’ Club World Cup participation meant the game will take place at a later date.

Up next for Arsenal is a home game against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Gunners published photos of the players taking part in a training session at London Colney.

And once again, Arsenal academy talent Mazeed Ogungbo was involved with the first team.

The 19-year-old has come through the ranks at Hale End and earned promotion to the Under-23s last summer.

In August last year, Ogungbo also penned his first professional contract at Arsenal.

The Republic of Ireland youth international is naturally a left-back but has also stepped up to play at centre-back.

Jeorge Bird has described Ogungbo as a ‘no-nonsense’ defender.

He ‘relishes pushing forward and delivering dangerous crosses’, added the Arsenal youth team expert.

To date, the youngster has made 48 appearances for Arsenal’s U18s and 27 for the U23s, as per Transfermarkt.

Ogungbo travelled with the Gunners contingent to Dubai and is regularly taking part in first-team training.

He’s yet to get his Arsenal senior debut, but Arteta looks like he’s a big fan of the player.

Could Ogungbo get some minutes at some point this season?
