Arsenal’s busy schedule continues this weekend as they take on Leicester City in the Premier League. Following a Europa League win in Austria during midweek, the Gunners will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the Premier League following a 1-0 loss to Manchester City last time out.
But with the fixtures starting to pile up, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has proved himself not afraid to give a chance to the younger players at his disposal in senior training.
That appears to have been the case this week with youngster Alex Kirk.
The 17-year-old has been pictured in training with the Arsenal first-team at London Colney this week and appears to be making a name for himself at The Emirates.
The centre-back, who has largely played his football with the under-18s up until recently, has been filling in at training with the likes of Rob Holding, Pablo Mari, and Callum Chambers all in various stages of their own recovery from injury and Kirk will be hoping to have made a mark on Arteta during the training sessions.
It seems unlikely that he is set for a first-team appearance anytime soon, but it is still great to see another young local talent making some waves in the Arsenal system.
Arsenal fans might want to remember this young man’s name, as he might very well be a first-team option in the making.
