Jesse Marsch has had a whirlwind start to life in the Leeds United hot seat with last minute winners and drama firmly part of the make up in his early days at the club.

Marsch is faced with the uphill task of trying to replace Marcelo Bielsa. One of Bielsa’s big plus points was his relationship with the players, and Marsch will be keen to try and replicate that with his own stamp as best he can.

And according to 90Min, he is going the right way about things and impressing a number of key first-team players.

90Min reports how both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are both impressed with the American coach already. Both players are vital for Leeds as we know, and both are being linked with a summer move away.

Of course, Marsch impressing two of the best players Leeds have is a good thing. It might be enough to convince one or both to stay put, especially if results continue to improve between now and May.

TBR’s View: Marsch Making A Real Effort At Leeds

You can tell in his interviews how much he wants this to be a success and the Leeds players do seem to be buying into things.

The two late wins before the int’l break felt massive for Marsch and Leeds and he’ll hope the good feeling continues into the near future.

For Raphinha and Phillips, it’s a bonus that they like the coach. Often, a good manager can be the difference between staying and going somewhere else. Leeds fans, then, will be hoping this is a turning point.
