Phil Thompson has lauded Arsenal target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and claimed the Leicester City star has an incredible left foot.

Mikel Arteta is expected to bolster his midfield this summer and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is of interest to the Gunners.

Indeed, it was claimed back in January that Arsenal have been scouting Dewsbury-Hall and believe he is ‘very talented’.

The 25-year-old has impressed in the Championship for Leicester this term, netting 10 times and providing 12 assists.

And regardless of whether or not the Foxes bounce straight back to the Premier League, Phil Thompson believes the Arsenal target will be playing in England’s top flight next season.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Thompson claimed that Dewsbury-Hall boasts incredible quality, particularly on his favoured left foot.

“I’ve followed his young career and what a player he was,” the Liverpool legend said. “I don’t know if it was his debut at Anfield and I looked at this young lad and you see the name and I thought wow, what a left foot he has got.

“How well he looks and plays. And he has developed greatly. Hopefully, he comes up with Leicester but if he doesn’t I would expect him to be in the Premier League next season.”

While Leicester had led the way in the Championship for the majority of the season, automatic promotion certainly isn’t a foregone conclusion for the Foxes.

Should they miss out on a top-two finish, they will face the difficult task of winning the playoffs.

You’d imagine that Dewsbury-Hall will attract plenty of interest from the Premier League should Leicester miss out on promotion.

The £40 million-rated midfielder impressed last season before Leicester were relegated and he has improved massively while playing regularly over the past year.

Arsenal are in the market for midfield reinforcements, with uncertainty surrounding Thomas Partey’s future.

Of course, Dewsbury-Hall operates in a more advanced role but he could offer excellent cover for Martin Odegaard while challenging for a spot on the left-side of the midfield three.
