Phil Thompson has told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (broadcast on 2/11; 17:49) that Kieran Tierney was absolutely terrific for Arsenal in their 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Tierney has quickly become an incredibly popular member of the squad amongst the fans. The former Celtic man has impressed at both ends of the pitch in each of the games he has featured.

The 22-year-old was making only his second Premier League appearance on Saturday. But he vindicated the club’s decision to sign him in the summer with a superb display in the frustrating draw.
And Thompson was full of praise for the Gunners ace for the way that he dealt with Adama Traore throughout the game, as the Scot seemed to win their own battle down Arsenal’s left flank.

“Tierney did very well because he was up against Adama Traore,” he told Sky Sports. “We know he’s probably the quickest player in the Premier League and he kept trying to go on the outside. And I was thinking, ‘you’re under big pressure here, he’s going to do you once, twice, maybe three times’. But he didn’t.
“He stuck to his task. He’s only just getting into the team so he may have a little bit of rust. But he was absolutely terrific.”
It is such a promising sign that Tierney is playing so well already. His consistency at Celtic would have been one of the key reasons why Arsenal were determined to get him in. So being up to speed after two Premier League starts is a big statement.
And while Arsenal fans may be struggling to take too many positives from their team at the moment, Tierney’s development is certainly providing one reason for optimism for the supporters.
