Phil Thompson has told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (broadcast on 5/10; 12:36 pm) that West Ham United forward Andriy Yarmolenko has one of the best left foots in Europe.
The 29-year-old has made a fantastic start to this season. Yarmolenko has scored three goals in seven Premier League appearances for the Hammers, including the opener in the 2-0 home win over Manchester United.

It is a remarkable run of form given that Yarmolenko spent 10 months on the sidelines due to an Achilles injury when he had just nine top flight appearances for the Hammers under his belt.
He has quickly reestablished himself as a key man in Manuel Pellegrini’s ranks. And Thompson lauded the Ukraine international for the impact that he has made during his time at the London Stadium.

“This guy’s incredible,” he told Soccer Saturday. “This guy’s got one of the best left pegs in European football. He is that good. And it’s not just that. It’s his assists in the game.”
The Telegraph reports that Yarmolenko cost West Ham £17.5 million when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund at the start of last season. So it looks to be fair to say that he could prove to be an absolute steal for the Irons.
Of course, he will be desperate to enjoy a lengthy run in the team to really prove himself. But he is certainly making the most of his chance so far this season.
