Phil Foden says £60m player Arsenal want to sign is simply ‘not fazed by anything’

Arsenal are in the hunt for a number of new signings this summer and England star Phil Foden has been lauding one of their potential targets.

The Gunners are taking things a tad slower than in previous summer as PSR implications and the Euros being on are hindering certain deals being done.

That’s not to say Arsenal don’t want new signings. Far from it, in fact.

Mikel Arteta and Edu are carefully identifying a number of potential signings who they feel can finally push them above Manchester City in the table.

Among the positions being looked at by Arsenal is in defence and particularly, at centre-back.

While Arsenal are being heavily linked with Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori, another top defender from the Euros, Marc Guehi, is on the Gunners’ radar.

And bigging Guehi up ahead of a potential summer move, Manchester City star Phil Foden has lauded his England teammate.

Phil Foden seriously impressed by Arsenal-linked Marc Guehi

Speaking on the latest episode behind the scenes of the England camp in Germany, Foden was full of praise for Guehi.

“He has been a leader. I know Marc well from obviously playing with him. He is not fazed by anything,” Foden said.

“I feel like he is coming to the team and showed his qualities. He is not fazed by anything.”

Guehi proves himself in Germany

Guehi has emerged as the key defender alongside John Stones at the Euros this summer, both in a back two and back three.

The Crystal Palace ace came straight back in for Ezri Konsa against the Netherlands and dealt with the Dutch threats excellently.

Palace are thought to value Guehi at around the £60m mark and quite whether Arsenal or any other interested club will pay that, remains to be seen.

But on the back of this Euros, Guehi has certainly shown he is the man and will be more than capable of stepping up to a Champions League club.
