'Phenomenal': Rio Ferdinand says Spurs have a young talent who plays 'beyond his years'

Rio Ferdinand has praised Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski in the latest episode of Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

The Premier League legend lauded the Spurs talent, who made the show’s Signing of the Season shortlist.

Kulusevski has been a revelation since joining Tottenham on an initial loan deal from Juventus in January.

7 Transfers That Were TERRIBLE For Everyone Involved

The 22-year-old has made 16 appearances for Spurs, registering three goals and a staggering eight assists.

According to Goal.com, Tottenham have an option to buy Kulusevski for €35million (£29million).

And Ferdinand reckons Spurs would be “crazy” not to sign the Sweden international permanently.

“Kulusevski has been phenomenal at Spurs,” Ferdinand said on his show.

“He plays like a man beyond his years, cultured, calm. If they don’t sign him, they’re crazy.”

Is Kulusevski to Spurs an ‘if’ or a ‘when’?

In terms of Tottenham’s summer business, you’d assume that Kulusevski on a permanent is as good as done.

Indeed, a report in the Evening Standard from late April claimed Spurs have already decided to go ahead with it.

And as far as prospective deals go, this one is a no-brainer.

Who wouldn’t trigger an option to buy a young, high-calibre player who’s taken to the Premier League so well?

And best of all, for less than £30million?

Kulusevski’s arrival has turned Tottenham’s front line into arguably the best attacking setup in the Premier League alongside Liverpool.

Spurs have a lot of work to do to bolster their ranks in the summer.

But the Kulusevski deal is be one that needs to be done as soon as possible.
