Arsenal are one of the best clubs in the world to play for right now.
The Gunners are doing brilliantly under Mikel Arteta, and all of their players seem to be so happy to be playing for Arsenal.
However, this wasn’t always the case.
Cast your mind back just a few years, and there was so much disruption at Arsenal both on and off the pitch.
The likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka, Mesut Ozil, Willian and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had difficult times or difficult moments at Arsenal, and it seemed like a miserable place to play football for a little while.
Speaking to Lequipe, Nicolas Pepe has opened up on his time at Arsenal, and the winger says that he really fell out with football during his time at the Emirates.

Nicolas Pepe fell out with football at Arsenal
The Ivorian opened up on how difficult he found his spell at Arsenal,
“The only people who have always supported me are the Arsenal fans. At Arsenal I suffered a kind of trauma, as if my passion had been ripped away from me, I had a disgust for football. I doubted myself to the point that I thought about quitting everything.
Nicolas Pepe’s disastrous Arsenal spell
There’s no delicate way to put this, Nicolas Pepe’s time at Arsenal was disastrous.
Nicolas Pepe was once described as a ‘phenomenal’ player, but his form during his time in the Premier League wasn’t good enough, and that led to reduced gametime and increased criticism.
Mikel Arteta admitted that Nicolas Pepe wasn’t happy with his minutes during his time at Arsenal, but it was hard to justify using the winger based on his performances.
Pepe was always under a lot of scrutiny due to his £72m transfer fee, and it’s easy to understand why he fell out with the game when he was being castigated by the media every single week.
Pepe’s time at Arsenal was a disaster for everyone involved.
