Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League last night, and Peter Schmeichel has shared what he sensed about Erik ten Hag when he spoke to him after the game.
The Red Devils have had a disappointing season so far, haven’t they? They’ve lost more games than they’ve won in all competitions, and there is no sign of improvement. Ten Hag can’t be happy at all.

Peter Schmeichel shares what he noticed about Erik ten Hag after Manchester United lost to Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich only beat Manchester United 1-0 last night, but they were by far the superior side.
Erik ten Hag‘s men conceded 10 shots, and even though they only allowed one to go in, they just never looked like they were going to score.
Manchester United are now completely out of Europe after finishing bottom of their group. Copenhagen go through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, while Galatasaray drop down to the Europa League.
United fans are far from happy with their side’s performance, and even though Ten Hag looked positive after the game, Peter Schmeichel says he sensed some anger from the Dutchman.
The legendary goalkeeper said on CBS Sports: “I interviewed Erik ten Hag there, and he was, I could sense, he was quite angry. He was different to interview than all the other times I’ve spoken to him.
“What can he say? He knows his team didn’t perform well today. He knows it’s going in the direction he thinks it is. I agree with Jamie, he’s clutching at straws there, saying a lot of these things because they’ve got this big game and whatever he says now will filter through to the players.”
Manchester United face Liverpool next
The last place you would want to go to when you’re desperate for a result is Anfield, but unfortunately for Manchester United, that’s what’s next for them.
Jurgen Klopp‘s side are on top of the Premier League table. They have been really good this season, and we all know what they are capable of when they take on a team that’s low on confidence.
Manchester United, however, can’t just accept defeat before they even go there. They need to believe they can get back to winning ways, and beating Liverpool at Anfield could really change their season.
However, we just can’t see anything but a Liverpool win on Sunday.
