Peter Crouch has raved about Tottenham attacker Heung-Min Son and feels he’s a vital cog in Mauricio Pochettino’s team that is only getting better.

The 27-year-old fan favourite has gone from strength to strength during his time with Spurs and delivered an outstanding individual campaign last term.

He played 48 games across all competitions last season, scoring 20 goals and supplying 10 assists in return.

The South Korea international is once again set to play a key role for the North London club in the new campaign, which begins at home to Aston Villa on Saturday.

He cost Spurs £22million (BBC) back in 2015 and has turned out to be a bargain signing.

Crouch expects Son to continue improving in the upcoming campaign and ranks him as one of the world’s best attackers.

“ I want to stress the importance of Son Heung-Min,” Crouch wrote in the Daily Mail.

“He is a top player, one of the best forwards in Europe and I think he will be even better again this season. I love watching Tottenham play and think they will go from strength to strength.”

Son’s importance to Spurs was underlined by his performances in the Champions League last season, as he played a major role in helping the club reach the final.

The versatile attacker can play as a winger or a centre-forward and he will be a major goal threat in any position.

He’s a great finisher with both feet, has a rapid turn of pace, and has a brilliant understanding with his teammates in the final third.

Harry Kane is the talisman in attack that gets all the plaudits, but Son definitely goes under the radar and there aren’t many finer in the Premier League on his day.
