Peter Crouch makes U-turn on Arsenal Premier League title chances

Peter Crouch has made a U-turn on his views about Arsenal potentially going on to win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have enjoyed a superb upturn in domestic form this year, winning their last five league games in a row.

Better still, Arsenal have scored 11 unanswered goals in their last two league games, and the one before those saw the Gunners beat title rivals Liverpool.

As a result, Crouch – speaking on the Peter Crouch Podcast – is feeling a little more confident about Arsenal’s title chances, saying it’s no longer between Liverpool and Manchester City.

“I thought it would be a two-horse race, but you can’t ignore Arsenal’s last couple of results,” said the former Anfield and England striker.

“Against Burnley and West Ham, who are obviously struggling at the moment, the manager has come in under fire at the moment, but I still think they were very good.

“They (Arsenal) look like they could be in with a chance now.”

Arsenal benefited massively from winter break

The winter break really helped Arsenal out massively. The Gunners jetted off to Dubai during their window of time off and came back invigorated, and it has really shown.

Prior to their winter break, Arsenal had lost to the likes of Fulham and West Ham. They were also knocked out of the FA Cup, albeit by Liverpool.

After the break, the Gunners hammered Crystal Palace and saw off Nottingham Forest and Liverpool before thrashing the Hammers and Burnley.

Admittedly, the Champions League defeat to Porto brought Arsenal back down to earth, but the Gunners certainly have what it takes to embark on another good run in the league and in Europe.
