Peter Crouch believes that Aston Villa could have enough momentum in the Championship to go up via the play-offs this season to the Premier League.

The Midlands giants have won their last seven league games on the spin and have moved up to fifth in the league table.

Dean Smith’s side are now on course to end up in the end of season play-offs and are the in-form team in the division.

Crouch has pinpoint a large part of their success down to the return of attacking midfielder Jack Grealish, who has been in tremendous form of late.

The 23-year-old’s comeback has coincided with the seven-game winning streak and he appears to have lifted the entire team.

“Aston Villa are finishing fast and their win at Rotherham in midweek was huge. Keeping hold of Jack Grealish in January was huge for them and I always think the side with momentum can deal with play-offs best,” Crouch told the Daily Mail.

TBR’s View:

As long as Villa end up in the top six, it will be no surprise to see them as many peoples pick to win the entire play-offs.

They certainly have managed to hit top gear at the perfect time in season to catapult themselves into contention for promotion and there is no doubt Smith is finally getting what he wants from his players.

Grealish is at the heart of the success with his stunning individual displays, while he’s chipped in with three goals in his last seven matches.

The Englishman if often suggested with a potential call-up for the senior international squad and he’s showing why given his current form.
