Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch couldn’t help but praise Trent Alexander-Arnold during the half-time interval of their Champions League game with Atletico Madrid.
The ex-England striker was working as a pundit on BT Sport and during the break with Liverpool leading 1-0 talk turned towards the Reds defender.
Alexander-Arnold has been in astonishing form this season, registering 14 assists in all competitions from right-back.
Crouch played 134 times for Liverpool, scoring 42 goals and he thought the defender stood out in the first half.
He told BT Sport (11/03; 20:53pm): “It’s been a masterclass from him, honestly. He’s been spraying countless passes across the field; down the right, across to the left, through the middle. We’ve been waxing lyrical about him, he’s been absolutely class.
Alexander-Arnold is getting better with each passing week and he looks like being a key part of England’s team at Euro 2020.
Despite his tender years, he has played 124 times for Liverpool and there is still so much unearthed potential in the youngster.
Klopp looks like the ideal manager for his development and he is very much an important part of the team.
Alexander-Arnold could probably play in midfield; such is his unbelievable array of passing.
Liverpool supporters have loved watching him play this season. He is a real workhorse and is arguably one of the best modern-day full-backs in world football.
