Peter Crouch has been blown away by the quality of Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane following his performance in the win over Leicester City and feels he’s made huge improvements at Anfield as a player.

The left-winger scored and won his side a late penalty in a dramatic 2-1 victory against Leicester at Anfield.

Mane opened the scoring with a superb finish in the first-half, as he got in behind the defence with his pace and calmly converted his finish.

But Brendan Rodgers’ team drew level through James Maddison in the 80th minute and looked to have snatched a draw.

James Milner ended up scoring a 95th minute penalty to earn three points for the Merseyside club and they still have a 100 per cent win record after the opening eight Premier League games this season.

Crouch was raving about Mane following his latest display and feels his improvement has been colossal since he joined from Southampton in 2016 for £34million (BBC).

The Senegal international has become part of a lethal forward line at Liverpool and has been excellent so far this season.

“Watched him closely, I think he’s improved so much. It seems to me that Jurgen Klopp it’s what he does he seems to get players and improve them,” Crouch told BT Sport Score.

“I think people were talking about Mane being a lot of money what they spent. He’s worth double, triple that now. He’s a top-class player. Who’s the best in that front three? At the moment you would say Mane.”

Mane once again proved to be the talisman for Liverpool this season, where he’s perhaps outshining his teammates Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Sarah.

He’s now played 11 games across all competitions this term and weighed in with eight goals.

The dazzling wide player is so difficult for defenders to handle with his raw pace and the intelligent runs he makes when drifting into central positions.

Mane was a highly-rated talent when he made the move to Liverpool, but he’s now catapulted himself into the elite bracket in world football and would surely walk into any team.

Liverpool’s win means that the pressure now shifts over to rivals Manchester City, who are currently eight points behind them in the table and host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
