Liverpool are reportedly hoping to bring Saul Niguez to Anfield this summer.

The Reds have been frequently linked with the 26-year-old, whose future at Atletico Madrid appears uncertain.

However, Liverpool could have to lock horns with Manchester United over Saul’s signature.

The midfielder has been linked with the Red Devils as well as Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And Rio Ferdinand has sent his former club a message, claiming Saul would be “perfect” for them.

“I think if the right player becomes available for the right price, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will go and get him,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel, via the Daily Mail.

“The problem is – who is out there and who could be a good fit?

“Saul Niguez would be a perfect fit and his asking price was £160million a couple of years ago, now it’s more like £40-50million.

“In today’s game that’s a decent price for someone like him who has Champions League experience.

“I’m a big fan of his. If you can get him in this window, I think you do it.”

Saul reportedly earns £207,000-a-week and is apparently valued at up to £45million.
