Aston Villa squeezed their way past Arsenal this afternoon as Ollie Watkins’ goal was enough to see them over the line at Villa Park.

The Villans put in another resolute display, with the likes of Matty Cash, Tyrone Mings, and Ezri Konsa once again in exceptional form at the back. Emi Martinez was also in fine form against his former team, as Villa moved to within touching distance of the top four in the Premier League table.

Dean Smith’s men continue to plough on and while Arsenal will be disappointed, Villa will be delighted with their days work again.

Among the performances from Villa players, it was the display from Tyrone Mings which really caught the eye. The England defender has grown and grown this season and looks more assured by the week.

Twitter, then, was awash with comments praising Mings’ performance against Arsenal, as Villa kept yet another clean sheet and picked up another big three points.
