Castles claims that the England international is a potential replacement for Aymeric Laporte, who could leave the club this window. City are also keeping an eye on La Liga duo Jules Kounde and Pau Torres.

Moreover, Arsenal are heavily linked with White, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Gunners are in talks over a £55m deal for the 23-year-old.

City were the best defending team in the Premier League last season. Indeed, the Manchester giants conceded the fewest goals and kept the most clean sheets as Pep Guardiola’s side steamrolled the division.

Whilst Laporte was not first-choice last season, the Spanish international is a fan favourite with City supporters.

Furthermore, on social media, fans were unhappy that the club could be selling the former Athletic Bilbao star. With supporters fuming that White could be the player who replaces Laporte.

Here’s what some Man City fans had to say about White potentially joining the club this summer…
