- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Pep Guardiola has enjoyed a glittering reign at Manchester City since taking over from Manuel Pellegrini in 2016.
Pep Guardiola has been at the helm for eight years now and has won every trophy possible, including the Champions League which eluded Manchester City throughout their history.
The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season and that’s cast his future into doubt, especially since Gareth Southgate’s England exit.
Man City have been quick to dismiss links to Ruben Amorim as a potential successor to Guardiola and now TBR Football can reveal the latest on his future amid links to the England job.

Pep Guardiola would consider England job if he leaves Manchester City
TBR Football understands that the Football Association are keeping close tabs on Pep Guardiola’s situation at Manchester City and sources have confirmed that they would like to talk to him about their vacant managerial position.
The FA have not had any contact with the Spaniard’s camp but we are informed that intermediaries have made the English hierarchy aware that if he leaves City – he would contemplate stepping into international management with the Three Lions.
TBR Football previously confirmed that Guardiola met with Man City chiefs during the international break when many subjects were discussed. His own future was a brief talking point but he made it clear that he was still undecided on his next move.
Guardiola has an offer on the table from Man City
We understand Man City have placed an offer on the table for Guardiola and he will be able to name the length of the deal – if he does decide to stay at the Etihad.
Though, when asked about his future on Sunday, the 53-year-old reiterated that he’s still undecided.
“Leaving City? It’s not true, I haven’t decided yet,” Guardiola told Italian TV show Che Tempo Che Fa.
“And it is not even true that I will be the next England coach. If I had decided I would say it… I don’t know either, anything can happen.”
Interestingly, he left the door open on the England position, which suggests there certainly is a chance he could take over from Lee Carsley next year.
