Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, has praised Marcelo Bielsa, calling him ‘perfect’ for new signing, Ian Poveda.
Poveda sealed a move to Elland Road over the weekend, joining on a permanent deal from City.
The young winger will be looking to seize his chance with the high-flying Championship outfit. Working under Marcelo Bielsa, Poveda will be keen to improve and cement a regular place in the starting XI.

And City manager Guardiola praised Bielsa, insisting Poveda is in the best place with the best manager.
“He needs to play. I think Leeds United is an incredible challenge. To be training with one of the best, or maybe the best manager in the world. In terms of how he helps to get players to be better”, Guardiola said. (Sky Sports)
“I think Leeds play perfect for Ian’s quality”.
Guardiola has praised Bielsa on numerous occasions. It is well-known within football that the Spaniard admires the experienced coach and has indeed based a lot of his methods on Bielsa’s own.

Poveda, then, will be hoping that Bielsa does indeed improve him and get the best out of him going forward.
Furthermore, he’ll be hoping Leeds can finally seal a long-awaited return to Premier League football this year.

Guardiola loves Marcelo Bielsa. You can see it in his face when he speaks about him just how much respect he has for the Leeds manager.
When it comes to Poveda, it’s great to hear Guardiola giving him his blessing to leave the Etihad.
The youngster will be hoping to get a chance under Bielsa. There has to be an element of caution given Jack Clarke and Eddie Nketiah’s failed loan spells this season already.
However, after signing on a permanent deal, it’s hard to see Bielsa not giving him a chance.
Poveda will, no doubt, see first-hand just what his former boss at Man City is talking about when it comes to Bielsa.
