Sergio Aguero made a goalscoring return to Premier League action for Manchester City today and Pep Guardiola couldn’t praise his man enough following the 2-0 win.
Aguero showed all the composure of the seasoned striker he is at this level, tucking in City’s opening goal to set them on their way to another vital Premier League win.

The Argentinian striker is to leave this summer, though. City have decided the time is now to move on from Aguero, although he goes with their best wishes and talk of a statue being built outside The Etihad for him.
And speaking to BT Sport following the game, Pep Guardiola admitted he ‘loves’ Aguero.
“What a goal, what an action, what a player, what a man. I’m incredibly delighted he’s back. We’re going to enjoy the last games with him, and he showed with his goal what he has, being what he is. I’m in love as a person. An incredible guy,” Pep said.
Aguero is closing in on the record of Wayne Rooney now. The strike today was Aguero’s 182nd goal for City in the PL, just one behind Rooney’s 183 for Manchester United.
TBR View: What a striker, Aguero is one of the best ever
They don’t come along very often but when they do, certain strikers simply leave their mark. Sergio Aguero is one of those strikers.
City will have a massive void to fill when it comes to Aguero. Even now, into his 30s, he looks lethal and if he does move elsewhere, he’ll still be in and among the goals if he stays fit enough.
What a player he’s been and it’s lovely to see Guardiola being so delighted with him, too.
