Tottenham Hotspur could be about to field an offer for midfielder Harry Winks, according to reports.
Spurs are reportedly open to selling the England midfielder with Manchester City set to make a £40 million transfer offer for the player, according to The Sun.
Winks has struggled for form and fitness in recent times and does not appear to suit Jose Mourinho’s style of play.
Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, is believed to be a massive fan of Winks. The report claims that Guardiola is a ‘serious admirer’ of Winks and that should come as no surprise.

Speaking after an October 2018 1-0 win over Tottenham, Guardiola made it clear just how impressed he had been with Winks’ display at Wembley.
“Tottenham is one of the teams I admire the most for the way they play,” he was quoted by Football.London. “I think the grass today did not help them either, they have a lot of quality to play. Harry Winks came on the pitch and changed the game so they are an exceptional team.”
So it will be no shock that Manchester City are keen on the Tottenham player, who would also help toward homegrown player quotas.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have recently signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, seemingly putting Winks further down the pecking order and might be forced to sell if a £40 million bid does indeed materialise.
Considering how fond of Winks’ talents Guardiola appears to be, that does not seem beyond the realms of possibility.
