The transfer saga involving Argentine frontman Paulo Dybala has rumbled onto a new chapter over the weekend.
It seemed as though the Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur target was all set for a move to Old Trafford. Romelu Lukaku was expected to go the other way as the Red Devils secured a marquee signing to help them back into the Champions League.
However, as reported by The Telegraph, the deal has fallen through. Manchester United are said to be unconvinced at Dybala’s desire to join the club whilst his wage demands are also proving preventative.
So does that leave the door ajar for Tottenham?
Last month it was reported by the London Evening Standard that Spurs were ready to make a move for the player, who was being valued at £90 million by Juventus.

Of course, Spurs would want to get that fee down but it seemed they were hopeful the offer of Champions League football and plenty of playing time would convince Dybala into a move.
But, his wage demands are surely going to scupper any serious interest Tottenham have in his services.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Dybala was asking for £350,000-a-week at Manchester United. Anything in a similar region at Spurs would easily make him the highest earner at the club. The risk of alienating the rest of the playing staff, earning significantly less, would be high and Tottenham simply cannot afford to upset their delicate salary ecosystem.
If these wage demands are accurate, then Tottenham can surely forget about any shock deal to bring Dybala back to the club.
