Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has blamed Juande Ramos for his 2008 departure from White Hart Lane, as per FourFourTwo.
On page 10 of the magazine’s July edition, Robinson couldn’t be any clearer on why he left the club to join Blackburn in July 2008.
He said: “Me and Juande didn’t get on at all. He was the reason I ended up leaving Spurs. With hindsight, if I’d stayed, he would have gone two months later and I probably would have enjoyed working with Harry Redknapp.
“It was a total dictatorship under Juande. He had a very old-school way. It was like Joe Hart under Pep Guardiola; I wasn’t for him and nothing I did could change that.”

Ramos led Tottenham to the League Cup in 2008 and was supposed to usher in a brave new era at the club, after making a raft of new signings.
It didn’t work out that way and Redknapp was brought in with the club in the relegation zone. If what Robinson says is right, it’s no surprise that it didn’t work out for the Spaniard at White Hart Lane.
He’s likely right that Redknapp would have kept him between the sticks. But the Tottenham Robinson describes sounds different to the side of the modern day, indicating how far they’ve come in a little over a decade.
