Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has been “outstanding” for Spurs, according to Paul Merson.

The 21-year-old joined Tottenham on transfer deadline day in January alongside Rodrigo Bentancur.

Both players have made an outstanding start to life at N17.

Bentancur is now first-choice in central midfield alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

And Kulusevski has also hit the ground running, chipping in with several goals and assists.

He gave Everton a torrid time on Monday night and provided numerous chances for his teammates.

It’s all the more remarkable considering his young age and also that he’s only just come to the Premier League.

“No-brainer of a signing”

On Saturday, Tottenham travel to Manchester United hoping to build on their latest victory.

And Merson, previewing the game on Sportskeeda, commented on how well Kulusevski has done so far.

“Dejan Kulusevski has been outstanding for Tottenham,” wrote Merson.

“Antonio Conte knew him from the Serie A, and it was a no-brainer of a signing.

“He’s hit the ground running in a much harder league than the Serie A.”

Kulusevski is on loan at Spurs, who have an option to buy.

Making that option permanent will be the second no-brainer regarding the player and Tottenham.

Conte is getting the best out of Kulusevski and it’s frightening to think he’s still at the start of his career.

Barring any late issues, the Swede should start for Tottenham against the Red Devils.

If he delivers a masterclass at Old Trafford, there will be even more people lauding him come full time.
